Scaup swimming and swimming and....
We have as many as 40 to 50 everyday. They come and they go. Then, they come back. They never leave the water... just swim and dive, turn in circles and repeat. They are very shy and somewhat difficult to capture ... for me.. with my point and shoot but, I try!
This is a daring one...
he stayed somewhat close to me!
they seem to swim in pairs. there is always an even number on the lake
The usual! I arrive and they turn their backs!
Look like the Red Heads we start to see this time of year here in Ohio.

Excellent captures, and yes I know how difficult it can be to get a decent close up image! We had eight about 250 to 350 feet offshore this morning, but would not come any closer even though Mallards we feeding very close to shore.

well, it's good to know that they are not just avoiding me!!! I do enjoy watching them but it has become a challenge to get a close up ! Thanks for your remarks!
