I just bought the Smart Photo Editor program. It was only $29.95 but has hundreds of different effects.
This is the original photo and the edited one.
When I took this photo at Walt Disney World I had my Canon SX50 set on Vivid Color mode which I really didn't like when I downloaded the photo's.

This effect is called "Unprotected Photo"

Thanks so much wolfiebear. I kind of liked the look of this effect.

Something different, Lori. I reckon you'll have some fun with the new program. :-) :-)

Thanks for including the preset name ..... most instructive (and a good nudge for those who do not own this filter to get it).

This program is very addictive Bob.
I am wondering Lori if this can be used alone or does it have to be used along with some other editing program?
I love what you did to this photo

Thanks so much. No I just downloaded the program (there is a free trial) you just pick the effect you want from over 500 effects and click save. That's all there is to it. I don't have photoshop and this is the next best thing. I will give you the link in a minute.

So glad you showed us the difference! The colors in the original are so competitive. The second one has such an interesting effect! Definitely an improvement and I love the effect. Now I'm wondering if you can keep the effect but put back the original balloon colors. You are certainly enticing me to look at this pp program. Thanks so much.
What I also like in the second photo is how you cut some extraneous images so that our focus is on the central family and the balloon seller. So it's not just the program. Your eye for composition also plays a role in making the second photo more enjoyable.

Thanks, I love this program, but it can be addictive. Why don't you try the free trial and play around with effects on the top right of the page. The thing I like about it is it's so easy to use. You can even replace a sky, or ground, background etc. I am going to try to keep the balloons the same Color and change the background black and white. Have fun and let me know if you like it. :)
