These were fascinating. I can't imagine what type of equipment you must have used to take a picture of something as small as a snowflake - did you use a macro lens or something "special". Of course, I live in south-east Texas and it only snows here occasionally - about once every 10 years or so. When it does snow the flakes are tiny, perhaps they are a little larger where you are in the north. If it ever snows here again I'm going to try it.

 Looks like a short stack may be something to consider in the future, since some of these beautiful flakes aren't all flat.

I have a 40 mm macro. All snowflake photos that I take are handheld. I have a plate of glass about 10" x 20" with duck tape on the edges (to protect myself from the klutz in me) that I place over the corner of my deck rails. Most of my snowflake photos are from the glass, although I will sometimes get snowflakes that have fallen on the deck rails. In post processing, I add about 20% contrast and 20% fill light and sharpen as needed.

I keep trying to do stacking with limited success, but getting better (just not good enough to share yet).

Great shots. Pretty as individuals, but when you get 3 feet of 'em, well......... ;-)

Nice photos... :-( Nothing personal, though, but I have snow shoulder-deep outside my house. I neither need nor want to see more snow close-up! I am NOT on good terms with snow right now.
