I happened on this little critter a couple of days ago. He didn't stay long so I was only able to get this poor shot.

Your macro will probably still be a bit slow until you have knocked all the rust off it after all that inactivity. He he.

Right now the camera and lens is soaking in a 5 gallon bucket of WD-40 with hopes of stopping any more rust from forming. I noticed the shutter release button was a little sluggish when I had to hit it with a roofing hammer to get it to click. I did notice rust falling from the camera when I clicked the shutter so you are probably right. When I downloaded the SD card to my laptop even then the photos had moss growing on them so I figured I had better start taking care of my valuable equipment.

At least you are doing your best, caustic soda might help when scrubbed on the sensor. :-(

You are as bad as I am. I did use caustic soda and it worked well until the sensor dissolved. Maybe I should have used lye or is that the same thing as caustic soda? Either/Or I guess.

Have a great day, Brenda. Have your wonderful husband fix something special for your dinner this evening or tomorrow evening if this evening has already passed in Spain.
