New River Gorge

My husband and I are headed to New River Gorge for a few days in early June for our 30th anniversary. I want to get him a day of fishing to keep him occupied, and in return, he is going to give me a day of photography. From my research, it appears there are a lot of falls in that area. Are there any Hoggers who live in, and know this area that would like to meet up and do a day of photography with me? Mary Ellen

That is a beautiful area. I've been there several times and took my grandaughter's senior pictures there. There's a lot opportunities for photos. There are some falls nearby and Hawk's Nest state park as well. If you're brave, try the white water rafting. I would love to go there in October when they have Bridge Day.

There are some great spots on the Gorge. Plenty of falls to photograph there is Sandstone falls, Pipetem falls and many more. Which part of the New River are y'all visiting? Some of my gallery works are of the Gorge and the local area. I have been fishing and photographing the gorge for all my life grew up here. What kind of fishing is the husband doing? Let me know if I can help y'all in any way? If I am not shooting a wedding or another commitment at that time I would be happy to help.

did you know that the New River is the second oldest river in the world and one of the few (like the Nile which is the oldest) that flows North.
