Squaretrade warranty

Having my Sony HX300 repaired under extended warranty by squaretrade...So far they have been on the mark replying as to repair status by email. I gave my Grandsons Naba tablets last Chistmas and after 14 months they cracked a screen. Square trade refunded the whole purchase price that I paid. So according to them if my camera is not repairable they will refund 100%. Are other warranty companies such as Sony the same or is this exceptional service. They were 30% cheaper than a best buy warranty. Any experiences with any other companies out there? Who should be avoided? thanks

I don't know about anybody else but Square trade is good.
I bought a Blu-ray player from e bay with the Square trade
warranty, it broke after playing a couple of disks, they gave
me a full refund and I got to keep the player.

It took me two months of going round and round on an unrepairable Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, but they finally did come through with the full purchase price plus refunded what I paid for the warranty for my trouble. My expensive electronics like laptops and camera gear are all with them. Can't say it was a great experience, but they did make it right finally. Luckily I had a cell phone I could borrow in the meantime.

I refuse to go round and round with them as they stated 2 to 5 days. I do want the camera fixed and done correctly and as they have advertised promptly. This company lives and could die on its reputation as it should be.

Right. That's good to know for an expensive item.

EDIT: Coverage is available only for new cameras bought in the last 30 days.

For those prices, why bother?

I've seen Squaretrade warranties included with refurbished cameras - a good idea.

I can not afford to fix or replace a camera that will be $350 (SX50) even though I paid $200 on a run of good luck. I become very attached to my cameras.

So Squaretrade has had my Sony HX300 since Feb 13. They said they were going to repair the camera... They have replaced the lens with a new one (that's 24mm to 1200mm) and is sending it expedited FedEx and will arrive Thursday the 26th...The repair aspect was great. Talking to them the way I understand it the rest of my warranty is still valid. Best Buy makes you buy a new one A great investment of $42. They did the right thing on both times I have delt with them. Take care.
