I may have missed a couple of posts but what camera body are you using with the Tamron that is not working.
I have the Canon 6D with which I get high resolution and combined with the Tamron 150-600mm lens, is a match made in heaven for sharpness and clarity of photos.

:) No. I wasn't comparing my attempts with yours. I was trying to at least do, something comparable, what I had done before
Wow. This is a highly detailed photo of excellent quality. What camera and lens did you use?
I just took this photo yesterday with my Canon 6D/Tamron 150-600mm lens.
Canon 6D - Tamron 150-600mm @ 600mm - 1/800 - f/10 - ISO @ 800 - Distance was about 25-30 feet.

Canon 6D - Tamron 150-600mm @ 600mm - 1/1000 - f/13 - ISO @ 800 - Distance was about 25-30 feet.

Thanks. It was with my 7D and the Sigma 150-500.
I was hoping for similar results with the Tammy.

Well, you should get better results with the Tamron 150-600mm lens as I did over the Sigma's. However, the Sigma lenses come very close in quality to the Tamron 150-600.

That's what I thought too. There must be something wrong with it. In the view finder the bird would look perfectly in focus and then...well...a disgusting mess when I looked at the result.

If your camera is functioning correctly, then you have a bad copy. Only a few UHH members had the same results, so they returned the lens and exchanged it for a new Tamron 150-600 and their results were much better.
They may made this lens on a Monday or ?
Check out your camera with another lens to be sure it is working correctly before sending back the Tamron.
Thanks, I hadnt heard of any problems with the Nikon mounts just a couple of the canon's. Good luck!

I did hear of some people having problems matching the your camera with the Tamron 150-600.

I don't seem to have issues with any other lenses. Maybe a little MFA might be needed but nothing like what I was experiencing with the Tammy.

The 6D works well with the Tammy but I've seen a slew of people having problems with it ranging from a 1D4, 7D & 5D3.
Some of it maybe user error but there's strong indication that there are other issues. There's been issues mentioned here on the HOG including other forums I'm a member.
Nikon doesn't seem to be affected to the same degree but there are always bad copies or microadjusting needed.
Maybe you are one of the few that are lucky but I know for myself I'd go Sigma or the new Canon 100-400 II. In fact, there talk that once cropped to the same dimension, the 100-400II is sharper than the 150-600 Tamron at 600mm. Admittedly, I'm spoiled and would never give up my 500f4 for a third party.
Keep in mind he's using a Nikon D4 at $6000.00.
There were lots of pictures on that Flicker page with D5 and D6...
