I get it bigger is better I am a newbie is it really true that one needs all those MP's for better photos. Thanks joe

Yes you do!!! The larger sensors will improve the composition and art of your photos. Of course , you need to buy the very latest improvement to become a great photographer. A 5 - 10 thousand dollar budget for every year will ALMOST guarantee your becoming a pro. If you want an absolute guarantee, consider a Hasselblad for $20,000 up. Oh yes, extra backs and lenses are also required. :lol:
Seriously, I wonder if they soon will be selling "How many fairies can dance on a pin head." There is nothing wrong with technology improvements. They just aren't the all in all answer for everything. As a former Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction I think you will find it interesting to know that flash cards are better at learning math facts than any computer program.

Of course, better sensors means better quality images. BUT, it's the nut holding the camera that makes the pictures - good or bad.
