Olympus four thirds lenses

Anyone had any experience with the two 40-150mm lenses , one is a f3.5 and the other is a f4 , both use 58mm filters. I can't find a comparison of the two and would like to get one for my E-30 , price is about the same so that isn't an issue.

Get the older one (f3.5)...it's sharper...but bigger. I had one as a kit with my e-500 way back in 2007. I could probably scrounge up an old image taken with it on my e500 if you like.

I had the 3.5 and it did good job for the price. But my favorite lens on the E30, which I have kept to use on my EM1, was the original 50-200. It is a gem. I got it for next to nothing from Keh, very well used, and it is a stellar performer even now.

Get the older one. The 3.5. Very nice lens. I used mine a lot to shoot hummingbirds a few summers ago.

You might be interested in the new Olympus 40-150mmPro.
It has a constant f2.8 right through the zoom range.

Won't work on his e30

I agree with the 50-200. Stellar lens.

I also use the 50-200 and agree: it's stellar.
