On the recommendation of "Imagemeister" I purchased the Tamron SP AF 1.4x TC. I am very pleased with it. I have only used it on my Nikon 300 f4 lens. Make sure it is the "SP" model. They also make a cheaper 1.4x TC with fewer elements.

You may loose AF as this will push you to f9

A 1.4X on a f 4 lens makes it f5.6 .....

Yes, I know. I was referring to the OP'S Tamron 150-600 which I believe @ 600mm is f/6.3

But there are two issues - the lens @600mm is soft so you have to stop down to F11 to get anything worthwhile even without a TC, and the F6.3 max aperture becomes F9, which is really dark. Without a split prism or microprism focusing screen it will be very difficult in all but the best light to manually focus. So a TC is not a good use of the OP's money. If he has another use for a TC and was planning on getting one anyway, then it really doesn't matter. Otherwise, it will be a disappointment.
