Hi fellow Hogs,
I'm very curious about the new Canon and Pentax camera announcements: mainly the Canon 760 and Pentax K-S2.
My main question is about sensor performance. I can't really find any information about these new sensors. Maybe the Pentax 20mpx sensor is the same as the one on the S1 but would like to know something about IQ and Iso performance.
I'm also so curious about the new Canon 24mpx sensor.
Does anyone have more information.
Thanks in advance.
Cannot help you directly but the sensor is not the only factor .
The lens is a big factor.
https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/pentax-k-s2-first-dslr-220500021.htmlThis will give you some idea of the Pentax.
This also has an APS-c sensor.
They have just come out so You will have to look at this and other reviews.
The Pentax is dust proof and small. It really depends what you are looking for. New cameras are not necessarily the better than previous ones. Perhaps with Wi-Fi? Does that make it a better camera for taking photos?

I know it's not the only factor but I'm curious to see how it performs consiering that the 24mpx is a new one for canon, if I remember correctly.
You might find some more info and sample images on Canon's website, but will have to wait for some independent reviews about the new Canon 24MP sensor that's going in the T6i/760D and M3. It's brand new and hasn't been used in any current models.... was only announced last week.
I can't recall Canon ever before putting a new sensor in the Rebel/xxxD line, before it was used in at least one or two of the "higher" models. Seems like the 7DII should be using it, too. Maybe we'll see a 7DII"N" model announcement! Maybe a 70D"N", too.
The sensor is a huge factor. You are right to get all of the info you can. Suggest waiting for DxOMark sensor rating/score.
