Is a question in there, or are you just making your hardware inventory list public?
I would go for the 6d/7dII combo.
Thanks I should have been more specific regarding my question. The price point is about the same

Its a question. I have a $4000 budget not sure if I should spend it all on 5ds or 6d and 7d mark 2

You still need to be specific regarding your question. Like by actually asking a question.
The price of the Canon 5ds is equal to Canon 6d and 7d mark2. should I invest the money in 1 camera (6ds) or 2 cameras (canon 7d mark 2 and 6d)?
you must be a Seahawks fan.

For events, the 7DII might be useful. Also for events, having a second body with a different lens setup can come in handy. The 6D would be very useful for the portraits.
Is one of these activities (events or portraits) your money maker?
Thanks they all are actually.

Hi! Welcome to the Ugly Hedge Hog.
First you must roll in the barnyard and be assimilated.
So if you shoot a lot of "...events and portraits and High School year books", What the hell are you using? A Camera phone?
Please tell us what you have, why you think you need more or different, and pose a real question.
"Which of these would you recommend for the things I do?"
(Shoot a lot of events and portraits and High School year books .)
I believe you missed your calling. As vague as your post is, you could be in Politics.
