You have an ideal set-up. Proper positioning of diffused speedlight is key to complimentary lighting of your macro & close-up subjects. Most macro-photographers with similar set-up, position diffuser face above lens front element, slightly to right or left, and pointing down about 45ยบ angle.
It is also important to makes sure that SB-800 drop-down diffuser is in place (this will also automatically set SB-800 to widest light pattern), and to make sure that the
internal white cloth diffuser inside the FotoDiox softbox is stretched from side-to-side.
