Very nice. But we want to see pictures, how it performs.

Some images f/4 to f/32, taken quickly just to show!
I've removed the black light trap inside to get new, so the images are not good :-(

Vignetting would be most apparent at largest aperture, not the smallest.

I previously never heard of removing glass from a lens in order to make an "auto extension tube". This is brilliant.
Where did you learn about this modification?

Choosing Aperture Priority setting on camera with a manual lens & this modified extension tube, makes auto-exposure a reality.

I agree with you! But in this case, I mean the vignette caused by the shadow of diaphragm, like f/22 ~32, if it is far from the reversed lens.

I did some experiments with other old lenses, and the 200mm and f/4 are good

Not yet found an article about this subject! They are some experiments that I am doing!
If we keep the rear element in place, we increase the magnification 0.8x

I still possess a Nikkor-Q 135mm f/2.8 lens that I purchased new in 1972. Not been used for decades, and still in good shape.

I am going to convert to an auto-extension tube for reverse lens mounting, as you have done wit the 200mm f/4. I like the extra stop I gain with my lens.

Any suggested procedure to removing the optics? Any other modifications recommended?

Is a Pre- AI lens! Works with Nikon DSLR series DF, D3x00, D5x00, D40, D60. For other DSLR's need to be converted !

I do not know where is the diaphragm inside this lens!
If this lens has the diaphragm more of the 30mm far from the lens reversed, you will have a vignette of the shadow of the diaphragm when using small apertures !
If this happens, can be added one Nikon PK13, PN11 or other one compatible auto ET.
This increases the magnification but will reduce the vignette!

All glasses removed with suitable tools, sometimes are very hard to unscrew! http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/camera-lens-tool
Be very careful to not damage the blades of the diaphragm when disassembling!
