It may sound ridiculous but after almost a year of using my Nikon D610 i cannot insert the battery into the charger. I have never even thought about sliding in the battery before but for the life of me it just won't go on! I'm hoping that this is just another serious moment on my part. The enclosed pic may help you to see the problem. Don't know if you can see from the photo but the battery is hard up against 2 of the pins and will not slide in.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Jimbo

I have witnessed this twice - once in my camera where an off-brand battery had swelled and would no longer fit in the charger or the camera, and once in a friend's camera where she had the charger plugged in near a heating vent and the charger itself warped a bit - she had to replace the charger but the battery was OK. If you have an acquaintance with the same equipment, you could test things out a bit and isolate the culprit better.

Oh come on, tell us! A bit of embarrassment once in a while builds character and is a lot of fun for the rest of us! (Between our own character building episodes!)

Cram the battery into wrong charger maybe?

My senior moments are multiplying out of control. Recently went on a trip without any charger at all! Fortunately it was to Disney World and I could just pay Disney to take pictures for me, had more fun that way anyway, preschoolers do not like waiting for granny to fiddle with her camera.

Ok Lfinger, you are right of course! I should face the music.

I have 3 Nikon cameras D40, D90 and of course my latest acquisition a D610. 3 batteries 3 chargers. So what was I trying to do? Yes, you've guessed it! I was trying to fit the 610 battery into the D90 charger. Lord, is my face red right now?

Lol.

See, don't you feel better now! Don't worry, it will just get worse as you get older! I once wandered around the house for 30 min looking for my reading glasses, all the time wondering why everything looked so out of focus. Can you guess why? My wife still has fun with that one!

Put it in a vice and crank the handle until it goes in!
