Thanks hlmichel for the "great shot" comment. I was on the Huntington Beach Pier looking down on them. It's a great vantage point to shoot the surfers.........one that most photographers don't get of surfers.

Brent, this is a great capture well done. Hope they both came out of this unhurt, especially the woman about to get her calves chopped!! The download is awesome.

Yes CResQ, no surfers were harmed in this photo! The girl on the wave made it safely past the kook girl on the blue and white board before any impact. Thanks for the "great capture well done" comment.

Yes Steve, you are 100% correct on everything you have said. Fortunately the kook girl on the blue and white soft Wave Storm board didn't run into the other girl but it was very close as you can see. Huntington Beach on a head high surf day is not the place to learn how to surf. She should have gone to Doheny where the waves are much softer and smaller and the crowd is more mellow.
