I Picked up a Nikon D5200 a few months ago and have been playing with it as to get acquainted with the way it works. First just to get it out of the way, the video is very good. Better than I expected. even it low light. That said let's move on to stills. I used the 50 mm kit lens for a few shoots and never went back. I also own the af-s 18-70 lens. I have been using that as it is far better than the stock lens. Dont get me wrong it is not the end all lens by any means. After a few months I've become antsy to get better. So I own a 1968 Nikon F 35 mm (Which I will never part with) camera with several lenses. I grabbed the stock 50 mm and 28 mm lenses and stuck them on the 5200. Shooting full manual, this is the result of the 50 mm. I think I have found a new friend. No Photoshop was used other than a bit of cropping. Thanks for your time

Nice Set! I have a Minolta 50mm 1:1.7 that fits the Sony A99! I will get it out and make a few with it and evaluate. If results are anywhere near what you are getting, will use frequently.
I hope you have good results! shooting in full manual put the challenge back in the game for me. I do shoot a lot of spontaneous stuff at my church and that really requires auto focus and lens adjustment but when i have the time this is the way i will go. I'll put up a few more from the same shoot.
