Get ready to be blasted for even thinking of posting this. I posted something that put Kyle in a different light here a couple of weeks ago and got called all sorts of things. The phony patriotism on this site is amazing.

I had no political agenda. I just thought it would be interesting to read. there must have been hundreds of snipers over there, and each would have a sightly different story to tell. I've always thought that deploying snipers was a very efficient way to get the job done.

I have not seen the movie and most likely won't. I spent 63 months in SEA 12 in Thailand building bombs of various types to include napalm, the rest in country as an engineer on the C-130 aircraft. Didn't have spend any time running from foxhole to foxhole so my view is totally different from those who did. I seen the men as they came out from the bush, there is no way to explain the look in their eyes or expressions on their faces, I know because I seen them many times over and over in the constant dreams and flashbacks that I suffer.
Each persons reactions are different to what they seen and how they were affected. To each of you I hope you are able to get the help you need to combat the effects of "your war"

That's all that matters now.

I saw the movie and thought it was pretty good. I saw the movie as a movie about a "person" and how the war affected his life. I didn't see a movie about a war.

I saw how "a" ware affected a person and his family.

Must have been a differenct movie theatre I was in ...

I would imagine when fighting a war, American soldiers must believe they are on the right side. They must believe the enemy deserves to die. Even then, there is a price to pay when it comes to mentally being able to cope. Understand that demonizing the enemy is the only chance our soldiers have to come back home and re-enter the mainstream. Most Americans are handicapped with the virtues of our culture. If from good families, they are mentally not geared to do the jobs they are asked to do. Kyle viewed the enemy as necessary and he still he paid a high price for being good at his job. He was a Hero in my eyes and in the eyes of the American soldiers whose lives he saved. I wouldn't trust the other sniper (author in that link) to protect my back.

Thanks for the link. I saw the movie and read the story. I didn't get that Kyle thought that all the Iraqi people were savages just the ones who used the children or women to kill. I don't think there will ever be true peace in that part of the world. War is not a good thing for anyone.

Russia has real weapons.unlike the oil countries we invade. Seems we have a new buggy man, now thwt Obama loves Muslims. got to keep military industrial complex fully funded right. Who else will pour money into the demopublicans. Everything today is political.
