baseball action in fading light, at f/2.8

Wanted to see what my 70-200/2.8 lens would do 'wide-open' yesterday, a dreary day. Attached are pics before I 'tweaked' them. After my crude PhotoShop adjustments, I got results good enough to share with moms thousands of miles away. Not color newspaper quality; but I'm learning. (Today I tried varying the F-stop as daylight diminished.)

I think you were having a LOT of fun shooting the game Wayne.
Good shooting! ;)

(I shoot AYSO Soccer that the Grand-kids are in. I'm always chasing that elusive DOF great capture.)

Nice action freeze on these. I'm jealous! I especially like the look on that pitchers' face.

That is why we spend the big bucks for a few extra stops. Makes a big difference. Nice lens and nice photos.

Your timing was superb on the shots of the batter about to make contact.

Great action! You have me excited for the start of MLB again, even though tomorrow my attention will be full on the Seahawks and Patriots :)

Thank you, Sonny.
Our baseball gives us lots of satisfaction in our senior years.
No children; so we appreciate the players volunteering to serve as our grandkids! A university team in the spring (and fall), and a town team in the summer.

No diapers to change, and no hands to wash,
Ya don't even have to feed unless you want to. 8-)

Love your sense of humor, Sonny!
You always give me a smile to make my day.

I was trying to say "some bigger than others" of course.
But NCAA says "all or none". Picky, picky, picky!
You can imagine the cost of feeding full-grown athletes....

As always,
thanks to each of you for your comments.
That encourages me to keep on the job
i.e. off the couch!
