The difference being that Catholic Archbishops are only tenants, not owners.
Televangelists make themselves rich.
I think televangelists are some of the worst people alive. The prey on older people. Horrible people with their multi-million dollar estates playing out their theatrics for the weak who believe in a god and begging for money.

I agree with you Donna. They have their reward on earth while the true Christian's reward is in Heaven.

I knew of a rich widow in our town who gave and gave to them. Since she had so much money, nobody noticed the loss. After she died and they did the accounting of her finances, the amount of money she gave them was crazy. I can't believe how some people are so gullible, not the widow, she was very old and probably had some dementia problems. My cousin quotes Joel Olsteen and his wife all the time on FB. I put up a picture of his estate, with guest houses, pool, etc. so she'd catch it but she just closes her eyes to it...

If you want to have a clue about how the Catholic Church got a lot of its money read a book by Malachi Martin. He was a Jesuit priest. Very important in the Catholic Church. The book rich church poor church he explains how the church came upon a great deal of its wealth by helping air of German officers escape to South America after WWII. He is a damn good author.

I know a woman who hasn't very much money but gives $25.00 to the 700 Club each month. I told her that she shouldn't but she insist on doing so, "To help feed the children". I don't know what her money is going to but she feels that she is doing what is right.
The Baptist owns the home that the Pastor lives in. Some are big while others are small. Some are brick while others are wood frame. It all depends on the size of the church. Baptist pastors are not allow to work out side the church.

We're talking about people who are miles apart, Bangee. I'd never compare a televangelist to the preacher down the corner. The T guys are a special kind of thief. Some use guns, they use sweet and very phony words...

Check your facts. If they are just tenants, who pays for their opulence ???
They would be kings, if our republic permitted it.....
PS....How was St Peter's Basilica paid for.....???

The first line is a reply to you about Televangelists - on topic.
The second line is a reply about the Church pastoral housing - still on topic.
Not all churches are wealthy and none of this is about you Donna. Just another attempt to bash the church and Christians through Televangelists. Not everyone care for Televangelists.

Poor Christians, always getting 'bashed'.
Yep.....always playing the victim..... :-o

And what other reason would there be for posting such a topic? What gain would there be for a discussion of this type other than to bash? Com'on Ray, everyone knows your feelings toward Christians. It is like an inner hatred for you.
I have already stated my feelings towards Televangelists, always asking for money but never preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. But I must admit that not all TV Preachers or bad. I have Charles Stanly in mind but my dislike for Televangelists is different than your hatred for not just Televangelists but for all Christians.
Yes, you can say that we Christians are playing the victim with a smirk on your face knowing in your own mind that it is true - because it is you Ray, who is doing the bashing.
Does anyone remember the Reverend Ike? "Money is the root of all evil... so let me shoulder the burden. Give it all to me..." And yea verily, they did.
