I don't know what kind of bird this feather came from. Maybe someone can identify it. It appears to be a body feather. The shot was taken at 1:1 with a Canon 100mm/2.8 (non-L) lens on a 5D Mk III. Exposure 0.6 sec @ f/11 and ISO 200.
Enlargement is quite revealing of detail! Well done.

It reminds me of hackle that I used to tie flies, many years ago. I would spin it around the hook and the spines would stand up. The fluff on the bottom would be cut off. It came off the chest of the bird. Just some meaningless info I guess. Nice shot! I am going to look for my old fly tying stuff. Bugs have probably eaten it all. Then again, I might have some bugs to shoot!
