I am also considering the R3000.
It would be Epson #3 for me... the first one changed my entire experience with digital printing.

I have been doing a lot of printing with my three month old R3000 which does a good job indeed, especially black and white photos. I would recommend this to anyone serious in printing large format photos.

Im down in Newport and just ordered it. My i9900 will no longer work on my iMac and its time for a change. I am not a photographer but or even an amatuer but want to spemd more time printing my photos. Bill
