several pairs within a 20 to 40 miles from me. It's been a challenge to find one. They really blend in to the snow on the harvested corn fields here. Taken close to the Iowa/Minn border. D7100, with sigma 150-500 and cropped. Hope to get close to one so the image quality is better

Very nice. I got my first snowy this year too and I have been hunting high and low not to mention all the miles we have put on the car. I typically have to drive 200 to 300 a day round trip to get into promising areas. The two look like females as the males are almost all white, they could also be juveniles too. Keep after them as they won't stay around long. The big thing is food and as long as they can feed they will stay in the area. There's a lot of competition out here with other owls and all kinds of hawks for the mice so corn and wheat fields are a great place to look. We always stop to ask locals and farmers if they have seen any and sometimes get invited to go visit their farm where they even point out other owls for us to photograph. . Good luck and please post any more of your fine snowy owls.
