I read that thread last night and laughed so hard. One commenter posted a link to a page where he had seen this information. That page had Canon all over it and links to where you can order the camera now. But, oops, the 750 you are ordering is a Nikon. Really, people, do you think Canon's new camera will have the same numerical name as Nikon's latest camera?
Yes, this is highly speculatiive, and as Amfoto pointed out it comes with a very skeptical rating (hence the question mark in the title of my post).
To the point about product branding, not quite so fast!
For reasons best known to itself, Canon sells the same basic products in different regions under different branding paradigms.
In the US, entry level DSLRs are branded Rebel xxx, in Japan Kiss x, and in Europe XXXD.
So, The T1i, T2i, T3i, T4i, and T5i anre sold as the 500D, 550D, 600D, 650D and 700D in Europe.
Nikon has at least a D500, D600, D700 and D750 in its past and current product line up.
So, before you all laugh too hard, Don't get your Nikons or your Canons in a twist.
It may not be clear cut at all.
What we do know, is that there is a new Canon entry level DSLR coming soon, and the leaks, accurate or otherwise are beginning to appear.
I posted this, just for information if anyone was interested, and to see what we can find out.
But, it's always fun when something makes people laugh, for whatever reason.
Enjoy!
