Nice close-up of a Bald Eagle.

My first good close-up. I have learned never pack the equipment up till I get home. I traveled over 50 miles today looking for birds and I found this eagle less than a mile from my house on the way home.

I lower the ISO to 64 for this shot and it really does add to the detail.

Thanks Sylvia, I love the eye detail on this shot. It appears to be a pale yellow.

That's great to hear. I had only recently started noticing that lower ISO aids in clarity, both with the SX50 and my T3i. Never really gave it much thought other than higher ISO = "noise" - which can be fixed, sort of :) and that I didn't much care anyway. Now I do!

That combination of the D810, 1.4x TC and 300mm is awesome. Nice work.

It does greatly but it does lower those shutter speeds and makes action photo difficult. Landscapes I almost use 64 only.

Thanks Gary, I was snapping away and put the 10# setup down(hand holding) for a second when he flew off. Missing the action shots.
