baseball begins today

Baseball season began for me today. (Practice for NCAA Division I schools.) Wanted to try my 'new' /2.8 lens, which I hope will provide some evening (baseball) pictures for me which my 'old' lens could not. Attached are 'untouched' samples from both lenses. My camera is NIKON D5200. The Lenses are AF-S Nikkor 70-300/4.5-5/6 VR and AF-S Nikkor 70-200/2.8 VRII. I intend to crop the pictures, and perhaps tone down the highlights of a couple of them. Opinions? I love seeing the ball and its shadow both in the same pic!

We agree, Frank. Some of the players are 2000 miles from home -- their moms, especially, LOVE seeing the pictures!
