Not sure why I like this eerie shot but I do.
About 75% of the pictures I process with Topaz don't print properly.
they are usually dull almost colorless.
Tried more saturation and other settings and it just doesn't look right.
Wasted a lot of ink and paper on previous Topaz processed pics.
Anything else I print is fine.
The poster I made prints perfectly on plain paper, matte or glossy.
Pictures processed with bridge and photoshop are fine also. Colors all print fine, just a little light or dark, which is easy to fix.
Oh yeah I print no color management usually.
Tried (printer manages colors) and it came close but no cigar.
Printer is Epson XP860 1 month old. Ink hog but prints better than my previous epsons.
Work flow is a problem did so much to I don't even remember what plug in it was.
I took it with my Rokinon 500mm 6.3 hand held across an old cranberry bog during the day. didn't notice the house in the trees until it was brought out by the plugin. Of course it was blurry but there was something about it and I started playing around.
It's been through ACR - photoshop and who knows what else in topaz.
Touched up with curves, levels and hue saturation. converted to 8 bit from original 16. Prophoto RGB
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
You said nothing about your printer, host program or work flow. Perhaps you can provide a little more information.
You might also consider deleting the think with your personal contact information --- unless you love junk calls and junk email!

Are you printing directly from Photoshop? Which version? You should allow Photoshop to manage the colors on the print.
In the Epson printer properties (when printing from the application) do you have 1) the proper paper selected 2) the proper print type (media selected, high quality photo selected, etc) from within the Epson menu that is displayed when selecting Properties. I've done this where I forget to select high photo quality and the incorrect paper and get disappointing results.
I think I asked the question wrong!
What was the final software where you liked the image on the screen? In other words, what software were you using for the print button? Lightroom, Photoshop, Epson's sofware, Windwows Picture Viewer, etc.?
I'm not asking how you made your art, only asking for the flow of printing steps.
I ask because common software, like Lightroom, Photoshop and others want to control the colors in the print driver. So does the print driver. If they are both doing it, color gets screwed up.
Thanks
I did forget on the first one I tried to print, but it was properly set for the others.
I've printed on the wrong side the matte paper many times.
The thing is this only happens with topaz processed pictures some of them are fine but others seem to be missing some info or something.
I posted another picture not too long ago that had the same problem, it just wouldn't print properly.
But that was the only other time.
Are you printing on plain paper or photo paper? If you're printing on plain paper, that would cause the problem.

Photoshop cs4
Since there may be a conflict between what CS4 wants to do with the color and what the Epson wants to do, try something else.
Use CS4 to make a copy image. Then try the Epson printing software. I don't have an Epson, but my Canon printer came with very good printing software.
I use Topaz almost all the time and I print from Lightroom having LR control the color and utilize a calibrated monitor and the appropriate ICC for the paper. I have no problem with the photo print looking flat. I use an Epson 3880 printer

Can you do a screen capture of the Histogram in PS and post that? If possible capture all channels.
Everything is the same in my setup.
Using the same paper I can print a photo that hasn't been touched with topaz and one that has.
Sometimes but not always the Topaz picture will have the problem.
I can't seem to correct.
That's what is driving me crazy.
