Sony site has a link for capture one BUT no info about costs - The site for Phase one - that runs C1 lets you have a trial version but still no pricing up front.
Anyone out there used the sony link ? any advantages cost wise.
How much and is it a download or disk or cloud?
Yes it is probably brilliant, but I also have a family to feed so ££££'s is THE issue
Thanks
George
price
It free for Sony user, but is not the full program. I haven't used it myself yet but looks like it will be nicer than the ICR program. You can purchase the full program if you want also
This link returns a 404 error. I'm interested and can't get there either.

It will work later. The site is down for maintenance at the moment.
The price is $299 for a single seat however.

I got onto the site and have some good news. You can upgrade your Sony express license to a pro version for Sony only for $30.00. If you want the full license for all cameras then you can upgrade to that for $269.00.
Seems like a great deal for Sony only users!

Great deal, and a great program.

I did a little experimentation with CaptureOne. I imported a RAW file into both Lightroom 5 and CaptureOne Sony Pro 8 and made no adjustments to either one. I'm shooting with an A77 with a Sigma 50mm 1.4. The image is very sharp and about 1/2 stop underexposed.
I opened up both at 300% and compared them side by side on my 24" monitors. The Capture One was obviously better. Significantly sharper, more/better color and more detail.
I don't know if this really proves anything or if it would be the same with Canon or Nikon, but I'm definitely going to start working with CaptureOne. So far, don't like the user interface as well (but it's new) but the results promise to be worth the learning curve.
