D7100/Tamron 150-600mm/Sigma 2X TC.

This area abounds with yachts, but I rarely see one with its sails up. Usually they are under diesel power. I went to Red Cliff yesterday & was surprised to see this one. It was a long, long way out, traveling parallel to the coast. I shot it at 600mm, using a Sigma APO 2X teleconverter which increased it to 1,200mm. This, of course, is equivalent to 1,800mm on a FF body. The shot was hand held, but with a good rest on my car door. I know it is not a quality picture, but I was impressed with the sharpness of the lens when really pushed. Please download.

What a beauty it is with its sails up! Clear shot in spite of the range.

Under the circumstances you had to work with, I think it is an outstanding photo-very pleasant to see.

I think it is a schooner, not a ketch!
