A Good Guy with a Gun

For those who think that owning a gun is always bad.
Robing a store does not always go as well as it did for Mike Brown.

Okay I admit it. I am one of those bleeding heart liberals, and I don't even live in America, so I should just shut the feck up. One story about a good guy with a gun. Let's hear all the stories about the the bad guys.
Guns don't kill people. But they make it a fuck site easier for for bad people to do so.

I believe that if the reporting in this country was fair, accurate said unbiased, the story would be way different and it would actually be a positive story when a thug got his instead of making him out to be the Victim.

Okay, let's take the 8 to 10 articles as absolutely true. That comes out to 120 incidents a year if you go with the high number and let's use that as a base.
In 2013 there were approximately 11,000 people killed in the United States with firearms. This comes out to a little more than 30 people a day.
So the question becomes does the good outweigh the bad or is it the other way around?
If a surgical treatment for cancer saved 120 people a year but killed 11,000 a year, would you recommend this procedure?
I think not.
Firearms are the same case. Unfortunately, the horse is out of the barn and we will never get back the more than 300 million privately owned firearms in this country that are already out there, but, that doesn't mean we should give up on controlling them and keeping them out of the hands of criminals and the insane.
So if you want to make an argument, just understand that 11,000 is more than 120 so making that particular argument is nonsensical.

That assumes that the number of articles is the same as the number of incidents. Without knowing that, your argument about relative merits is baseless.

Frank I used a handgun to defend me 3 times in my lifetime and none of them were reported so multiply my experience by thousands and your figures don't mean shit.
The only truth in your post is that guns are here to stay get over it.
