Grabbed the camera and headed down to my blind this morning. It was 17° F out there and I wanted to see how the lens would work. Not a lot of activity but did capture a few birds -
Photos cropped - no other processing done
I noticed the first 7 shots were blurry - made no changes but allowed the system to acclimate to the cold - the rest were sharp.
Total time outside - 1.5 hours.
I normally put the system in a plastic bag when I return to the house but the wind grabbed the bag and it ended up in the snow so didn't use it. I brought the system in the house and watched for fog on the lens and camera lcd and was pleasantly surprised (and impressed) to see none.
All photos were shot at 600mm.

Good sharp shots, Dave. Some people (non owners, lol) claim that the Tamron is soft at 600mm. Your shots prove otherwise. I am also pleased with my results at 600mm. I don't have your 'cold' problems over here though, lol. :-)

Thanks Dook -
I haven't tried the full spectrum of the aperture to see what the pic's will look like. I suspect that they might get soft when I'm out of the "sweet spot" settings - these were shot f6.3, f7.1 and f8 - when it warms up a little I'll go out and play with it some more...
Great shots. Too cold for me.

Were they shot in manual or maybe aperture priority?
