One of my better Bald Eagle shots and a crop of this photo.

Today was foggy, but I managed to come within 24 yards of this Bald Eagle before he flew away to catch a salmon. This was a 600mm setting.

Excellent shots. For what it's worth I prefer the first as I like the detail in the branch.

Awesome as usual Regis!
Did you see the news on the rock slide on HWY 97? Thank God there was not any people in the path of the rocks - they would have been killed for sure :(
Viewed in the download format, both photographs show excellent definition. Well taken/caught.

Thank you, raysass. The Bald Eagle is a beautiful bird and to see it is better than a photo.

Thank you, Sharon. A photographer friend told me that Larry, one of the photographers whom I met, was trapped during the rock slide. He is OK, but had a close call. I rarely go on that side of the bay, because I can't get close enough to the Bald Eagles as I can at Higgins Point. This eagle photo is a good example of how close I can approach this beautiful bird.
