Well at least he did ask. Appears most people just steals what they want nowadays. At least here where I live. Loaned my daughter my Canon m her house was broken in to last week and it was stolen with the rest of the stuff. I will never see it again or the insurance money for it.

Now taking donations, will take your old car, or cash. Want to get the new samsung nx-1, problem is it cost a lot. Going to park city utah next month and would like a decent camera to impress all the phony people i am sure to encounter. Your reward, I will share all my photos with you.

Maybe you should have thought ahead before you went to Aruba. You could have saved the money to buy your own damned equipment.

If you want an expensive camera simply to impress other people, you're not really a photographer, just a snob who wants to impress other snobs. Expensive cameras don't make great pictures, thoughtful photographers do.

I don't know how to take the OP, bad satire or whining? It has given me an idea. Print a gold labels with Leica on it and glue them over all my Canon logos. Result scale:
self esteem 5,
egotism 5,
photo improvement -1.
Conclusion, not worth the effort.

News, there is a thing called get a job, a second job or shovel snow or one of many old fashioned ways of earning money. I sort of remember having to do that for what I have. If UHH members are feeling generous I would like a Canon 800mmL lens, a 1DX and a new Piper PA28 to carry it all in.

Well....

Since "Robin" has Not responded to any of the comments herein. I would fathom a guess that He-She is NOT a living real person... Perhaps we on the UHH should request a JOKE column.

After all "Robin's" statement is a bit of a joke at best.

And Good Joke it is there "Robin".

Oddjobber, that is exactly why I need an expensive camera. After looking at all the pictures posted her, i would be embarrassed to put mine on display. There are some tremendous photographers on this site, and I hope one day to half as accomplished at photography as most of you.

That's a familiar trap, Robin. The finest cameras made cannot a photographer make. Good tools are unquestionably helpful, but ya got to know what you're doing, and I submit that anyone, anyone can learn competent photography with pretty much any camera. Or, put another way, any camera in the right hands can make stunning pictures. I rarely post on this site, preferring to put my stuff up on Flickr (see below). My stuff's not great---any more I just take what I hope are better-than-average vacation snaps, but I was a working pro for 30-plus years so I long since learned that a camera is just a hammer---a tool. Don't dismiss your present tools; try posting some stuff and let folks see where you're at now, so you can see where you're going. :-)

I put red pinstripe tape around my lenses so they look like Canon L lenses. I was just taking the advice of another photographer who told me to "Go To L !"
