Ok, March Madness is coming up and that means basketball season will be winding down. Baseball and Softball are coming up! Any hints, suggestions for great pics!
When shooting baseball for newspaper and magazines I always to try and anticipate a play before it happens. Knowing the game and situation plus having a great place to shoot from helps........

Loc: Fort Mill, SC but am rarely there
One tip that I have come to rely on is for when shooting with two or more cameras. I will frame and focus home plate on one camera. I then tape down the focus ring. Now if action shows up at the plate I have a camera that I just point and click. I have had a ton of success with this, I hope one of you find it as useful as I have.
Here's one of my favorite softball photos from last summer. I took it during a clinic that was put on locally for girls of all ages.
Shot with a Tamron 70-300mm zoom at 165mm. f10 1/400 ISO 200

She certainly has a determined look on her face--nice shot........
Thanks Coco...looking at your photos makes me wish I could go to a game today. The earliest I'm going to get to a game is the end of March and there are no guarantees that will happen because I have to drive 350 miles one way and who knows what Mother Nature will do.
You've got some great action shots. Thanks for reminding me of the tip about anticipating the action. I might end up shooting baseball in your neck of the woods this summer if my nephew makes the team in Foley.

I have a friend who's son plays for St Joseph---I think they are in the same league---keep in touch when you're coming up.....
Football is his main sport. Will be there to shoot something in the next 6 months and will keep in touch.
