Welcome to UHH!
#1 is a very pretty composition, looks like a great place to walk in any season. Does look like it's leaning a little to the right.
If you don't have an editing program, the free Picasa has an easy-to-use straightening tool, among other handy features. Download directly from Google, not a third-party:
http://picasa.google.com#2 - would be fun to run across a beautiful deer in the woods. Afraid you weren't able to get this one focused. Perhaps too dark or just the thrill of the encounter, so moved the camera? (happens to me often!)
Thank you and yeah I am just trying the lightroom beta for now until I download a better editing app

Welcome to The Hog, its the place to be to learn....
Start simple - its a long journey.
Read the camera manual - its surprising how many don't..
Google "How to" and search.. and also Links and resources at the top of the screen..
Work through some of the techniques' that look interesting in magazines and websites. It builds confidence and gives you great pictures to show off.
Your camera is great and works just fine....so usually the other part of the equation is....
Remember its FUN.
Good luck and enjoy yourself

Welcome aboard, it will be a fun journey. 1 is a great shot, I am thinking the actual slope of the land is what you captured?! The deer, a bit out of focus, dark but appealing. The 3 is a nice composition on a meandering trail.
My mentor keeps telling me..."shoot, shoot and shoot some more and practice, practice and practice some more." He is an accomplished photographer so I will pass along his mantra!
Make it fun, enjoy.
thank you all, for the useful tips i just gotta keep practicing
