Another Elements Question

I am currently using PSE10 for basic editing. I am wondering if it is worth upgrading to PSE13 or current release. I have tried unsuccessfully to find a comparison of the two (10 is too far in the past). Can anyone help out? What will I gain by upgrading? Does the current version drop any features I might now be using. Thanks!

I don't know enough about either, but why not download a trial of PSE13 from Adobe and do your own comparison?

I'm not extremely familiar with PS Elements as I am as CS6 user, however, I know there have been considerable advancements between PSE10 and 13. If you are thinking about getting a newer camera in the near future you will almost definitely have to upgrade if you want to edit RAW images (PSE10 only supports a very old version of Adobe Camera Raw ACR) The link to the chart below shows differences between 11 and 13 so you can interpolate there are a few more between 10 and 13:

Another thing to consider - If you have PSE10 on your computer now, how old is your computer? See the link below for the computer requirements for PSE 13:

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/tech-specs.html

At this point I would normally point out that now is a good time to consider the Photoshop/Lightroom combo for $10.00/month, but if you're still using PSE10 I'm guessing that you're really not to concerned with maintaining the latest-greatest software revision, which is one of the biggest reasons to go that route.

Hope the above links have helped.

Thanks for the suggestions. My mac seems to handle my RAW files right now and I hope it does for another few years. The CS6 package, if it is still available for a good price down the road, may be the eventual way to go.

I have PhotoShop Elements 10, 12, and 13 in a school lab. Both 12 and 13 have been upgraded to be far more user friendly. The pasteboard is really easy to use, and the 3 levels of expertise are nice for my students. With PSE 13 selling for $60 on Amazon, it's a nice present for yourself. In a quick check, I see that Amazon has jacked the price to $69. You can wait until it goes back down by $10 if that matters. It fluctuates.

Sorry, I gave wrong info on the PSE 13. I got it from Costco, not Amazon.
Sorry for the confusion (it comes easily to me).

I use Adobe Elements 12.
I can't foresee me upgrading to 13 for a while, if at all, because 12 is doing more than I personally need right now.
But I belive things should be upgraded occasionally so you don't fall too far behind. When you get too far behind it makes it even harder to grasp and catch up.
I think the free trial download is an excellent suggestion. I can't find it, but think it is a great suggestion...
Here is a link to Adobe's site, and specifically a comparison between 11, 12, and the latest 13.

Best wishes for your upgrades, keep shooting. ;)

PS: No doubt there are MUCH better deals on these than the Adobe site. Here is Amazon, for example.
