Color VS. Black & White
Question - Is color better than B&W for this photo?
I like the B&W for contrast!!

I like the color. Adds an almost abstract flavor to the shot.
The b&w has more impact, I think.
I like the color version better.
First of all, super-cool composition! Love it!
The colors are so interesting and pleasing and I suspect they would win each time; however, I would be curious to see a b&w rendition that is more realistic. Don't care as much for the painting effect on this one.
I definitely prefer the color photo. I love the reflection in the water and the subtle texture and value shifts.
I prefer the colour version myself.
If you had just converted to B & W I may have liked that version better but I am not sure about the texture and odd swirly patterns inside the boat, they are just not for me.

Yes! ... Especially based on this particular B&W interpretation.

This depends on what you are looking for.
Both are excellent in their own format.

Thanks for all the input. I actually meant to have posted the non painting B&W version but I got really good feedback the way it was.
It is interesting to see the split in viewpoints in answer to your question. The color makes the subject of boat in water a little clearer. The B&W is a bit more abstract. I like the B&W better but then I'M biased in that direction. Don
