Do these pictures appeal to anyone? I'd welcome suggestions. All that I did to the second picture was to crop it. How many of the filaments of the seeds should one bring out? No doubt I should fine-tune my monitor.... but, to paraphrase Don Meredith: "if wishes & butts were candy & nuts, it'd be Christmas all year round!" Perhaps when it will be too cold to get outside next week, I will....

I've never used RAW. Perhaps this should have been the time, ha!

I like them a lot! #2 is definitely sharper on download. #1 seems to be clearest and is a lovely composition. Great job showing the detail.

I find all of your photos "too busy"; no defining subject. Of the three, I like #3 the best. I have photographed milkweed seeds and pods, and recommend getting closer with fewer seeds. This is where a macro lens allows a shorter Working Distance.
Exif info of #3:
Camera Model: NIKON D5000
Lens: 18.0-55.0 mm zoom
Image Date: 2015-01-01
Focal Length: 55mm
Aperture: ƒ/5.6
Exposure Time: 0.017 s (1/60-sec)
ISO equiv: 800
Exposure Bias: none
Metering Mode: Matrix
White Balance: Auto
Flash Fired: Yes

No. I like this. Like a mini-bouquet.

They look good to me. You have nice clarity and sharpness. I like the light. The photos look nice on my monitor. Color seems very nice. I see nothing wrong with these.

I did an entire series of Milkweed seed pods and yours are just fine. Number 3 is my favorite and the blossom is very nice. Don't suppose you could send me some seed. My milkweed is not as pretty as yours. send me a PM if you can. I'll send you the shipping.

I'll see if they are still there in the morning. Who knows? If so, I'll be glad to share!

Very good shot, ya gotta love milkweeds. As a kid we started our romance.. they were fun.. and all over the fields. Indeed a shame that lawnmowers were invented.

My response for #1 would be to flip horizontal and then tilt so that the hair point upward angle. More canvas may be retired but that would only require clone and perhaps vignetting.
