Hi! I am a novice photographer who has an opportunity to go to Iceland the end of January to see the Northern lights. Can anyone give me advice or information on photographing the lights? :?: Thank you!!!

Here's a link with a lot of good advice that I referenced when I went to the Northwest Territories.

I ended up with mostly cloudy weather but still got a few aurora shots.

I have taken many Northern lights photos in Iceland. You need to prepare more your clothing than camera gear.

If you can bring a tripod it is the best thing to do, then you need to use 2-10 sec. shutter speed, ISO ca. 800-3200 and low aperture number. And it is best to use wide to normal lens for this.
