Greetings everyone! I just received a Canon EOS70D for Christmas, and went to load some photos onto PSE12 and I am getting a message that my Camera's media is not supported. I went to PS "Help" site and verified that my Camera is indeed listed as being compatible. (CRW2)
I am having to upload my photos with WIA windows program, then use "Picture" to convert them to a JPEG before being able to edit them in PS. This obviously defeats the purpose of shooting in "Raw" format.
HELP! (please)

Pinenutz, as I understood it, '12' should handle your photos but another approach you can take is to use the software that came with your Canon, (Digital Photo Professional, DPP), which will convert your raw images to DNG format, which should then work in Photoshop Elements. (When I was using PS-10 I had to go this route.)
Happy New Year!
You have to check the Adobe website to see if the latest version of PSE 12 raw converter will work with your camera. The latest version of PSE is 13 so version 12 is not supported with new raw converter.
Your camera, EOS70D, wants ACR version 8.2
Check PSE12 (Help -> About Plug-in -> Camera Raw) to see what version of ACR you have.
If it is lower than 8.2, go to Help -> Updates...
Wait for PSE to do its thing, then try and open your raw file again.
If you have a version of ACR lower than 8.2 and the Update feature tells you your program is up-to-date, you may have to install ACR manually.
Looking at my own installation, I have version 8.5.0.236 - and now it says I'm up to date.
Keep and eye on the "s" in "https" - delete it to make the link clickable :^)
Thank you! I'll give this a try.
Thanks for the input. I'm running Windows 8.

With due respect, that is a little misleading.
This table shows which version of ACR is needed by camera:
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.htmlIn this case the 70D requires ACR 8.2.
This table shows which ACR version can be used by the various Adobe software products:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.htmlIn this case, Photoshop Elements 12 was delivered with ACR 8.1 and was upgraded during it's market life 4 times to 8.5. Photoshop Elements 13 started with ACR 8.6 and has already had ACR upgraded to 8.7 for the very newest of camera models.
Since the 70D is included in ACR 8.2, the OP has Widows 8, Photoshop Elements 12 he/she should connect to the internet, use the Help menu to find the Update and let it go to work. It will update to the highest level it is capable of, which is 8.5.
The Adobe system and the camera manufacture's use of proprietary RAW formats makes all this into a bit of a puzzle palace.
