I have been shooting a Pentax K-X for about three years now, and it was my first introduction to dslr photography. I like my Pentax very much, and the reason for purchasing was because my previous 35 mm camera was a Pentax MEF, which i was also very fond of. I would like to upgrade to an intermediate level camera and can't decide wheather to stay with Pentax or try Canon. I do know all of the pros and cons for each, however could use any input. I think the choices would be a Pentax k-3 or a Canon 70D.
Please help me!

Welcome to UHH, Russell. Pentax & Canon ain't the only horses in the stable. Why not check out a Nikon D7100.

Having just bought a K-3 I can say whole heartedly go for the K-3. Your K mount lens will work with it, the image quality is right up there with the Nikon D7100 and the plus of not having to buy a stabilized lens makes much more sense. B&H has them on sale right now with a free battery grip.....quite a deal. The K-3 has a lot of features that make it a great camera. From my limited amount of time with it, I really am impressed. The white balance in auto mode is spot on so no more fiddling with it for most shots which is a real plus even for post processing lovers. Did I mention the Dual Card slots or the 8.3Fps burst shooting ability and the fact that it has no anti aliasing filter because it can simulate it with the system.

Get the Pentax. I sold all of my Canon gear a few months ago and went with a K-5iis and couldn't be happier.
In body stabilization did it for me, and you get a lot of bang for your buck.

I have the K-5 and am looking at the K-3 because of all the pluses with Pentax. Not having to buy new lens would be worth a lot. My vote

I bought my K-3 in August and it is a real winner. I love the multiple exposure capability and the colors are tops. I jumped from Nikon/Canon to the Pentax and have never regretted it. The little kx I had a few years ago sold me on the Pentax and the K-3 has been a jewel.

If the K-3 were not a great camera, you might have a choice to make. However, the fact that you can use any lenses you used on your previous cameras on the K-3 should seal the deal.
And yes, I love my K-3.
Thanks guys.... This is exactly what i wanted to hear. I love my current Pentax and catch a lot of flack from friends who shoot Canon. K-3 it is!

Now you just have to decide between the Black, Premium Silver (my pick) or the Prestige Edition!

Good choice. Maybe your friends just can't spell Pentax.
The k-3 if a wonderful camera, it'll keep you busy for years.

Welcome to the Hog!
I had the 70D and it is a fine camera, but I don't know anything about the K3 or how they compare. If you have been happy with your Pentax and have Pentax lenses that you would have to replace then you would probably be better off going with the K3.
