Just a comment: Lightening is seen all around the world; rainbows are seen all around the world; both can come and go very quickly.
Lightening "elves," sprites," "tendrils" and "blue jets" are a fairly recently recorded phenomena, but were reported for years as seen by pilots for in the upper atmosphere. They may disappear very quickly. Moreover, there are times when there appears to be 3 suns setting in the West.

Well, I would tend to think that it is still under wraps here on earth and never came from elsewhere.
