Viewing RAW Files in Photoshop CS5

When my hard drive crashed, and I reloaded CS5 on the new drive, CS5 will not display Nikon RAW files as it did before when I try to load a RAW file in Photoshop. All I can see are the NEF symbols. Clicking on a symbol does bring up a thumbnail at the bottom, but that is very tedious when trying to find a series of images, such as for HDR merging.

Bridge and Nikon's ViewNX 2 both display the RAW file images nicely. I suspect there is a simple way to solve this, but I have not been able to find it.

Anyone know what is wrong?

Do you need to download the correct plug in from Adobe, for your camera?

Yep - you lost the current version of ACR. Just go to the Adobe site and download the latest version of Camera RAW. Easy peasy!

Went to Photoshop CS5 Help/ Updates, and uploaded all the offered updates for versions of CS5, Bridge, Photoshop Camera RAW, and it still does not work. I will try rebooting to see if that helps.

Well, that is strange.

You should not have to reboot, but you will have to quit and restart Photoshop.

But restarts do solve a ton of issues.

Did you download from this page?

Yes, a couple of days ago. It did not work, nor did rebooting work. The strange thing is... It used to work!

it sounds like something got corrupted on install you may want to uninstall it and reinstall. i am not sure if you try to reinstall over what is there that it will fix errors or not. I would just delete and reinstall again. and then let photoshop update all the files from the website. i am sure you know this but under your help menu you have and update button.
