OK I'm no expert, but I love it just the way it is!
It appears that you've focused on the leaves...if that was your intent...you got it.
If not...then your subject is out of focus.
I like the idea but it's too soft for me.
Focus does not bother me. It is soft in the background and only the top of pottery appears soft. It works that way. Although keep in mind that other perspectives will work as well. Expose many different ways. You'll be amazed that two or even three different perspectives will be satisfing. I would crop up from the bottom of the image some and lose the leaf material in the gravel if possible. The gravel will stand on its own. Due to the fact that it's soft focus, you may want to darken it a bit. The leaf material through the pottery is good. O.A.P Only an Opinion. Good luck.
