Interesting. We have toads up here in IN, and I guess after a brief online check they're bufos too, but I've never had any trouble with them. Heck, we played with them when we were kids. I let them live since they kill bugs and such (our toads aren't "huge", biggest one I've seen around here was palm sized). Never gave a thought to them being hazardous. I do keep my dogs in a fenced graveled yard, so they've not had contact, but I've never had an issue with the toads.
