I wish you well in your world of film camera photography.

For my part, I've been tempted to enter it myself, due to my previous use of the Yashica Mat 124G.

I have a Yashica in the closet and a bag full of glass, now and then I take it out and play.

I have about a dozen film cameras (many given to me for free over the years), but I don't consider myself a collector because I actually use every one of my cameras; they don't just sit idle on a shelf collecting dust. Of course some get more use than others, but I do make an effort to load film into each camera at least once a year. Every camera has its special strength, be it ease of use, ergonomics, lens performance or sometimes simply a visually appealing design.

There's a lot to be said about old film cameras. Last week, I was looking through old photo's taken around 40 years ago with a Kodak film camera. I couldn't believe the detail and vivid color of the photo's, those pictures look like they were taken with an entry level DSLR. 40 years later, I almost forgotten how nice those photo's actually look.

Film photography is to digital photography as horseback riding is to driving a car. Sure, a car is in many ways the more practical option in today's world. But no car will ever give you the experience and ultimate thrill of riding full gallop across an open field on a sunny summer's day. Never has and never will.
