Sheffield-born soul rock singer Joe Cocker seen on stage and midsong at the Isle of Wight Festival on Sept. 11, 1969.
Cockers performing career spanned some 50 years, from Woodstock, where he sang the Beatles With a Little Help From My Friends, to the digital-music era. He had tour dates scheduled well into 2015.
I had the great pleasure of attending his concert at Woodstock and another one of Joe's concerts in Hartford in the late 69's. The stage was filled with Joe, his 'family' and his dogs. A beautiful experience that I will never forget. A great and innovative artist, RIP Joe, You will be sorely missed.

Wow... remember seeing his first appearance on the Jerry Blavat show when I was a kid....The Geator with the Heater, the boss with the hot sauce!
Attended two of his performances on Oahu, Hawaii 1970, had front row center seats. Memorable performance with a memorable Hawaiian date that I was trying to impress at the time!! Stationed at KMCAS.....
Got the Mac playing Joe Cocker albums on Spotify, good stuff.
I am a huge Joe Cocker (real name John Robert Cocker) fan, if you listen to "Up Where We Belong" or "You Are So Beautiful" and can't feel his passion, check your pulse you might be dead. You "You Are So Beautiful" was the father daughter dance song at my God child's wedding. Her father passed away several years ago, but each time I hear that song it sure takes me back to that moment. My niece is getting married in January and my brother was looking for father/daughter songs and I told him to stop looking "You Are So Beautiful" nails it, stop looking

I am a huge fan of Joe Cocker, although he was born only 20 miles from me I only saw him before he became famous. I had a weird experience the other day as I changed the CD in my car and for the first time in ages I put on a Joe Cocker CD, drove home and heard the news that Joe had passed away. Kind of saw it as a "remember me " message from Joe.
RIP Joe you will be sadly missed. But our memories of you remain.
