I used to work at the telephone company in engineering, we referred to the Central Office as the C.O.!

Hi GRW, I have this phone book. My 1st wife's 1 st husband won it in a drawing in down town LA about 30 years ago. He was a engineer in aro-space. At any rate he won it in a drawing. I was born at the Long Beach Navy Hosp. and raised in Bellflower Calif. so I was raided in the L. A. area. My 1st wife and I lived in the L. A. area. Since it's from the late 1800's i think it is worth something. I now live ~30 miles south of Branson Mo.

Came across a letterhead from the hardware store in the town I grew up in. The phone number was 2. (The letterhead was from before my time).

At least there was someone on the line to talk to.

It sure is a small world. I cant believe the leap in technology just in the last 10 years. We have started removing copper cables from certain areas. Everything is fiber. Gary

That is a very old book and in fair condition too. Did you happen to see "Jack Benny's" name........and he always tried convincing us he was 39
