Crater Lake's first snowfall.
These were taken just before the winter closure of the park.

These are beautiful!!!

Nice shots. However I did not know that the park closed for the winter. Is the whole thing just shut down?

Fantastic Scenes of a great location. Looks great in white.
Those photos are beautiful.
The parks North entrance closes every year when it starts snowing. They cannot keep plowing the Rim drive (too much snow every year) but the park never shuts down as people can visit anytime but have to use the South entrance which is plowed and kept open.
They offer snowshoe treks around part of the Rim drive from Crater Lake lodge in the wintertime so it a fun place to go even if snowing.
It's get hard to deal with 7 to 8 foot of snow.
Great series. #1 and #5 are off the charts, Mike.
Stunning shots, Mike! So inspiring.
Another northwest destination I have yet to reach :)

These are incredibly beautiful shots of Crater Lake, the best I have ever seen. I didn't think it could be any better than the ones taken of the lake in other seasons, but I like these much better.
Diamond Lake is nearby and a great location for photos too.

Thank you very much, the rim center is closed from October to May, they get one of the highest snowfalls in the nation.

Thanks Erich, I guess you guys see enough of that white stuff this time of the year.
