Photowshop Problems

I'm just learning PS CC and have already purchased a couple of training course to do things like fantasy images, adding multiple images to a photo, etc. I have three major problems: (1) I can't get my images to do exactly what is shown in the videos no matter how many times I try; (2) I seem to have lost the workspace window that shows what workspace you are using in the toolbar window. Not a real problem but annoying. (3) I also have not been able to get the Creative Cloud downloads to download. Is it possible I could have a defective program? Very frustrating to spend all this $$$ on programs and tutorials and not have them work correctly. Thanks for any suggestions.

1 anything in particular spring to mind?
2 On the menu bar, Window > Workspace choose from the several workspaces offered
3 What are you trying to download and what happens when you try?

What Op System?

Hi Searcher: I'm on a Mac OS X Yosemite. I do the "Windows > Workspace..." It gives me the workspace I want, ie, Essentials, Photography, etc. but the selected workspace doesn't show in the tool bar. It used to when I first started learning the program but now it doesn't and I don't know why. I'm doing tutorial videos from: "Phlearn" (a really great couple of tutorials), and also a tutorial called: "Art of Cityscape Photography – Jimmy McIntyre".
Thanks

I don't know about earlier versions of PS CC but in latest update, about a week ago, the Workspace name appears in a dropdown top right of the screen (Windows version).

If you're missing the toolbar at the top of the window, try Windows->Options

Since I just installed CC about a week ago, your post got me to playing around with Workspaces and the Options bar to see if I could figure it out. In doing so, I somehow managed to replicate the behavior I think you are talking about, and the Workspace switcher disappeared and I could not find a way to get it back. BUT, when I quit and restarted Photoshop, it magically reappeared. I get the feeling you have discovered a bona fide bug in the program, but I haven't been successful here in making it do that again.

I would note that if you have not been a user of previous Photoshop versions, it is a common practice for many PS users to quit and restart the app semi-regularly, because it is and always has been an extreme memory hog. And I don't think Adobe has yet fixed the behavior that causes the loss of preference and workspace setting changes in the event that the program does not exit gracefully (crashes).
